The project will be implemented from May 1 to December 31, 2025, and its main goal is to strengthen mutual trust and connect residents of border areas through traditional culture and music.

A common challenge in the cross-border area of Slovenia and Croatia is the lack of mutual understanding and connection between the population .

The project "Folklora nam je DRAGA" is responding to this challenge by organizing two concert events of traditional cultural heritage - in Zagreb and Semič , which will feature more than 100 children from partner folklore groups and more than 100 members of adult folklore groups .

During the preparations for the concert events, children from Zagreb and Dragatuš will learn about and perform traditional music and chants from the border areas of both countries through workshops and joint exercises . This will create a cultural exchange that encourages:

• getting to know each other and forming long-term friendships,

• intergenerational cooperation,

• greater awareness of the cultural wealth of the region,

• and strengthening the connection between local communities on both sides of the border

The project brings benefits to a wide range of stakeholders : children's and adult folklore groups, their families, mentors, organizers, local businesses and the general public of the border areas who will attend the concerts.

The goal of the project is to deepen mutual understanding through culture and create more lasting connections between local communities .
